DESCRIPTION:TWILIGHT PEOPLE to join:\n\nA day of talks on LGBT History!\nPosted on 26th Oct\, 2016\nThe main Festival event will be a free\, one-day programme of talks on Sunday 12th February 2017 at Exeter Phoenix. We will hear from a wide range of speakers including academics\, historians\, campaigners\, authors\, curators and many more. They will be present on many aspects of local and national LGBT history\, including:\n\nHow Exeter grassroots movements transformed life for LGBT people in the city\nWhether Oscar Wilde would have used Grindr!\nBristol’s very recent changing LGBT history\nChinese underground queer cinema\nTrans women in the Ancient world\nHomosexuality and the Royal Navy during World War I\nWe are also delighted to welcome two keynote speakers:\n\nSue Sanders\, Chair and Co-founder of SCHOOLS OUT\, will present a special talk on the history of this important organisation and its fight for LGBT equality and diversity in education.\n\nAward-winning author and biographer Diana Souhami will talk about her work on women’s and lesbian history\, focusing specifically on the British painter\, Gluck.\n\nFull programme and further details to follow.
